About DMI
Dansabe Media Institute (DMI)
...Learn, Unlearn and Relearn...
CEO, Dansabe Kuni
Dansabe Media Institute (DMI) is an African Based Media Company targeted at unraveling and unveiling silenced talents in Africa; basically in the areas of broadcast media and writing in general. And the areas of writings this 21st century platform deals with are: fiction, nonfiction, flash-fiction, drama/playlet, poetry, article and review writing. No doubt, there are several stories about Africa yet untold. The reason is not farfetched. It is simply because, no platform in Africa had ever considered exploring the media field alongside writing simultaneously. This is why DMI is birthed out of the burning desire to disprove the single story about Africa and to see how the severally silenced and muted talents and voices in Africa (both in the areas of broadcast media and writing) can be pushed to the world for recognition. Therefore, the basic tenets of DMI are, publishing/producing offer, contest/competition offer, training offer and mentorship offer.
Aim and Objectives.
DMI, (being the first platform to blending and merging media and writing together in Africa), is aimed at rediscovering hidden and silenced talents in Africa both in the areas of broadcast media and Writing. The reason for the outscooping interest in these two areas is simply on the fact that, it is very impossible to separate writing from Media. Writing could be said to be the heartbeat of media. Thus, all that goes on in the media can positively be affected by "writing". This is why it would be very difficult to point at a very good broadcast media personality that doesn't write or read (which is the product of writing).
Therefore, to create an enabling atmosphere for broadcast media and writing to flourish among silenced and muted talents in Africa, DMI would specifically be:
1. publishing and producing discovered talents through the relevant print and social media platforms available;
2. establishing an encouraged paid broadcast media and writing contest/competition across African countries;
3. instituting an annual practical broadcast and wtiting training/workshop to encourage and unmute silenced talents in Africa; and
4. encouraging African origin through timely broadcast media and writing mentorship.
Vision and Mission Statement
The vision for this platform became so strong on seeing how African broadcasters and writers, (who have the leveraging opportunities) are currently doing very well both locally and internationally. It thus shows that, if there are more and better platforms, the records would be amazingly intriguing in no distance time. Hence, at DMI, we are bent at ensuring African Origins get to learn, unlearn and relearn for better in order to withstand the outweighing global world.

Purpose:
The purpose is to help people (African Origins) increase their chances in the media and writing profession.
